About Our Journals

Other people’s walking journals and blogs are entertaining and informative. They have been invaluable in planning our walks. We didn’t do anything about putting our C2C notes and pictures on the web, because we didn’t think we could add much to what was already there.

Having completed our circular coast to coast (C2Cx2), we now had something original to contribute on the web. Some of our C2Cx2 only makes sense in the light of our 2010 C2C. So we can rationalise putting both on the web.

We have no web experience, but the Walking Places website promised a hosting service that required no expertise. An email confirmed that Walking Places would be happy to add our journals to that site – thanks Stuart.

While walking we (mainly Graham) took copious photographs (around 9,000 on the C2Cx2), something that slowed our walking (and sometimes frustrated Mary) but aided our memories of the walk. Graham had maintained a hand-written diary on both walks. Our journals are based on the diaries, the pictures, and our recollections.

We hope you find our journals entertaining and informative.
